Short Story: The University at Albany baseball team recorded 12 hits and held a late lead, but a three-run seventh inning by Yale lifted the Bulldogs to a 6-5 victory Saturday afternoon.
Coach Jon Mueller: "Collectively we were not good defensively. We left 13 guys on and didn't distance ourselves enough from them. Good news is we have a chance to win a series tomorrow."

- Yale opened the scoring in the first inning when Garrett Larsen singled home Bryce Miller to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.
- UAlbany responded in the third inning after Michael Maggio walked and stole second before Patrick DeSarno singled to bring him home and tie the game at 1-1.
- The Bulldogs regained the lead in the bottom of the third when Kaiden Dossa doubled and Garrett Larsen followed with an RBI triple to make it 2-1.
- The Great Danes answered with a big fourth inning. Tre Mariano singled and John Vitucci reached on an error before Patrick DeSarno drove in Mariano with an RBI single to tie the game. Moments later, Kyle Stephens doubled to left center to score DeSarno and Vitucci, giving UAlbany a 4-2 advantage.
- Yale cut into the lead in the fifth inning when a wild pitch allowed Garrett Larsen to score and trim the deficit to 4-3.
- UAlbany added an insurance run in the seventh inning when Brian Guerrero doubled and Zach Mravlja followed with an RBI single to extend the lead to 5-3.
- Yale answered in the bottom half of the inning. Kaiden Dossa doubled before Garrett Larsen singled, setting the stage for a two-run single from Chris DiPrima that tied the game. Colin Sloan followed with an RBI single to give the Bulldogs a 6-5 lead.
- Ethan Nardacci entered in relief for UAlbany later in the seventh inning and kept Yale off the board, recording the final four outs for the Great Danes.
- UAlbany threatened late in the ninth when Luke Filippi and Tre Mariano both singled, but Yale closed the game to secure the 6-5 victory.
