SHORT STORY: UAlbany shot well from deep and battled back from a third-quarter deficit to take a late lead, but NJIT answered in the fourth to take the win, Thursday night.

• Freshman Amaya Stewart led UAlbany with a career night, scoring 25 points on 11-14 shooting.
• Sophomore Martina Borrellas added eight points, a team-high 10 rebounds, and a game-high six assists.

• Amaya Stewart controlled the lane late in the third and UAlbany closed the quarter with an 11-3 surge to take a 49-48 lead entering the fourth.
• The final quarter turned into a one-possession battle as the teams traded paint scores and defensive stops.
• Stewart tied it at 53-53 and then gave UAlbany its next lift with another finish during a back-and-forth stretch.
• NJIT leaned on late execution, getting to the rim and the free-throw line to rebuild a cushion in the final two minutes.
• Borrellas knocked down a late three to cut it to one, but the Highlangers answered with a big three and late free throws to seal it.
• UAlbany had chances on the final possession, but NJIT closed out the 70-64 result.
