BOSTON, Mass. - UAlbany volleyball's Maria Olga Siapani has been named the America East Setter of the Week, announced Wednesday.

Siapani directed a 2-1 weekend at the Rocket Invitational with 74 assists across nine sets, averaging 8.22 per set, while adding 21 digs and three aces. She posted 34 assists and 11 digs in a sweep of Robert Morris, 23 assists in a sweep of Saint Francis, and 17 assists at Toledo. 

The Limassol, Cyprus native enters 2025 as the reigning America East Rookie of the Year after a debut season that featured 11 total weekly conference honors across rookie and setter awards.

The Great Danes return home to host the UAlbany Invitational for a weekend full of action. The Purple and Gold will take on Syracuse (Sept. 4, 6 p.m.), Cornell (Sept. 5, 7 p.m.), and Canisius (Sept. 6, 7 p.m.).
