"Our team has focused this preseason on competition and consistency as we prepare for one of the toughest mid-major schedules in the country," said Killings. "We're excited to test ourselves against high-level opponents and continue building toward something special as a program. Each game is an opportunity for growth, and we're eager to get started."
The Great Danes' non-conference lineup includes 15 contests. To start off the season, UAlbany will travel for three big road contests in their first four games, starting off with Marquette (Nov. 3) out of the Big East, at the Fiserv Forum, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Next UAlbany will face UMass (Nov. 8) out of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Rhode Island (Nov. 14) out of the Atlantic-10.
Fans can look forward to some great Capital Region action when the Great Danes host their first two home games at Broadview Center against SUNY Delhi (Nov. 11) and Paul Smith's (Nov. 18). UAlbany faces crosstown rival Siena at MVP Arena on Nov. 21 in the first of a
four-year home-and-home contract with the Saints.
The Northern Classic will be UAlbany's Multi-Team Event this season, in Laval, Quebec, Canada, at the Place Bell just outside of Montreal, with matchups against Colgate (Nov. 28) and Fordham (Nov. 29). While in Montreal, the Great Danes will play an addition standalone neutral site game against Oneonta (Nov. 30).
UAlbany will battle three Ivy league opponents throughout December, starting off with Columbia (Dec. 6) in New York City. The Great Danes then face the 2024-25 Ivy League Champion, Yale Bulldogs (Dec. 10), who are led by UAlbany alum James Jones '86/'95, in a neutral site game in the MGM Springfield Basketball Hall of Fame Classic at the MassMutual Center live on ESPNU. To wrap up Ivy League play, the Great Danes will clash with the Cornell Big Red in Broadview Center on Dec. 21.
To finish the non-conference slate, the Great Danes will first head down south to take on Florida Atlantic who reached the Final Four of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. UAlbany will travel back to the Empire State to continue its historic rivalry with Stony Brook (Dec. 17) when they head to Long Island and face the Seawolves. To wrap up non-conference play, the Great Danes will travel south to take on SEC power South Carolina (Dec. 30).
