SHORT STORY: Led by standout performances from freshman Hayley Wieczerzak and junior Deanna Grahek, the Great Danes defeated Maine to advance to the second day of competition in the America East Championship Tournament.

  • Maine opened strong with a run in the first inning.
  • The Great Danes answered with two runners on base from a walk and a single, but both were left on as the inning came to a close.
  • UAlbany's defense held in the second inning with three outs in three batters, including a pickoff at first base, before Kate Powers struck out the second batter of the inning.
  • Deanna Grahek hit her first double of the game to open the bottom of the second.

  • In the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, Wieczerzak struck out six batters, two each inning, and allowed just one hit.
  • Quinn tripled (fifth) and Grahek singled (sixth) as the Great Danes reached 12 total hits in a four-run victory over Maine.
