Rowing Travels for Novak Memorial Metropolitan Championships

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women's rowing team is back in action this weekend as the Great Danes travel to New Rochelle, N.Y., for the Novak Memorial Metropolitan Championships. Competition is set for Saturday with races starting as early as 8:20 a.m.

Great Danes in Action
The Great Danes will now have three boats in action for the first time this spring: the Women's Varsity 4+ and the Women's Novice 8+, which have competed in the last two regattas, and now the Novice 4+.

The UAlbany Lineup  
Last Time Out
The UAlbany rowing team, fresh off the program's first ever competition, returned to action right up the Northway in the New York State Collegiate Championships in Saratoga last Saturday. The Great Danes had two boats competing – the Varsity 4+ and the Frosh/Novice 8+. The Varsity 4+ had a strong 2nd place showing in the heat before finishing 3rd in the final behind Syracuse and Marist, defeating Binghamton, Colgate, and Union. The Frosh/Novice 8+ boat finished in 6th place in their lone race of the day.
