BOSTON - The University at Albany's softball's Hailey Errichiello was named the America East Rookie of the Week, announced Tuesday.
 
Throwing 3.2 innings of relief, the freshman from Roxbury, N.J. allowed zero runs while striking out six batters during the Great Danes' three-game sweep of Maine. Bringing UAlbany back from a losing score, Errichiello was the pitcher of record in a 5-3 win on Saturday. 
 
This is Errichiello's first career weekly award. As a team, the Great Danes have earned seven weekly awards from the conference - Player of the Week (April 1 - Frederick; March 18 - Taylor Quinn), Pitcher of the Week (April 8 - Kate Powers; March 11 & 18 - Hayley Wieczerzak), and Rookie of the Week (March 18 - Ava Beal).
 
UAlbany returns to action as they host Syracuse (Apr. 23) before heading to Bryant (Apr. 26-27) to continue conference play.
