ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany softball program and head coach Chris Cannata have announced a class of four recruits ahead of the 2027 season.

A group of four freshmen who call the Northeast home, the incoming class will help fill the gap left by the talented class of 2026. 

Adrianna Ferraro

OF | 5-6 | Montgomery, N.Y. | Lady Dukes | Valley Central High School

Quick Facts: A three-season athlete for Valley Central High School, Adrianna Ferraro capped her junior season named Fourth Team All-New York State. When not playing softball, Ferraro could be seen on the soccer field or the basketball court.

Matti Johnston

P/UTL | 5-4 | Erin, N.Y. | Rock Gold Waye 18U | Corning-Painted Post High School

Quick Facts: A state champion at Corning-Painted Post, Matti Johnson capped her career as the New York State Player of the Year. Throughout her career, she earned first team all-conference and first team all-state honors. Also competing in volleyball and indoor track and field, she was a three-season athlete.

Bella Pardo

INF | 5-9 | Perth Amboy, N.J. | Intensity National BOD & Dual Threat 18U | Perth Amboy High School

Quick Facts: Bella Pardo graduated from Perth Amboy High School as a record-setting two-sport athlete holding her school’s record for softball in hits (135) and for basketball in scoring (1,607). She earned multiple all-conference and all-division honors, along with first and second team all-area recognition in softball and basketball, respectively. 

Saoirse Skipper

C | 5-5 | Hamburg, N.Y. | VA Glory National Willemssen 18U | Frontier High School

Quick Facts: Saoirse Skipper is a Frontier High School product who has earned regional recognition as an Alliance Northeast All-Star and an Extra Innings Top 250 player in the Class of 2026. In addition to softball, she also boxed in high school
