ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men's basketball team travels to Smithfield R.I. to take on the Bryant Bulldogs on Thursday, February 6, before returning home to host the Vermont Catamounts on Saturday, February 8 for Hometown Heroes, Mackey Foundation, and Alumni Night.

Mackey Foundation: On Saturday, February 8, UAlbany Men's Basketball will host the the fourth annual 'Play Your Heart Out' game which benefits the Cardiac Kids and children from The Melodies Center offering children an inside look at Broadview Center.
Leading the Pack
· The UAlbany men's basketball team is 11-12 overall, 4-6 when away, and 5-5 at home this season; Bryant holds a 14-9 overall record while 6-2 at home, while Vermont is 12-11 while 3-8 on the road.
· Four UAlbany players are continuing to record double-digit scoring averages;
Amar'e Marshall (13.6),
Byron Joshua (13.5),
Justin Neely (11.3), and
DeMarr Langford Jr. (10.9).

Amar'e Marshall leads the Great Danes with 286 points shooting 102-252 (.405%) from the field and 30-92 (.326%) from three-point range.
· On the glass, Neely records a team-high 161 rebounds averaging seven per game. Neely also leads the free throw tally, going 69-86 (.802%).
· Joshua leads the team in steals at 35, as well as assists with 61.

Kacper Klaczek leads the team in denying shots with 13 blocks.
· In minutes,
DeMarr Langford Jr. leads the team with 677 total minutes played, averaging 30.8 minutes per game.
· Joshua and Langford Jr. are the only two Great Danes averaging 30 minutes or more with Joshua at 33.7 minutes per game and Langford Jr. with 30.8 per game. Meanwhile,
Kheni Briggs, Klaczek, and Neely are the only three to play in every game so far this season.
Scouting Bryant
The Bulldogs are currently a perfect 8-0 in conference play, leading the America East. This season Bryant is averaging 84 points, 30.6 field goals, 8.6 threes, 14.2 free throws, 40.9 rebounds, 15.1 assists, 12 turnovers, 6.9 steals, and 5.6 blocks per game.
Leading the points tally for the Bulldogs is Rafael Pinzon with 377 total, averaging 18.9 per game. Pinzon is shooting 138-311 (.444%) from the field, 54-125 ((.432%) from beyond the arc, and 47-52 (.904%) from the line. He leads the team in the field goal category.
Connor Withers leads scoring beyond the arc, shooting 59-157 (.376%) as well as having the team-high in steals (41). Earl Timberlake leads scoring from the line, shooting 74-104 (.712%). Timberlake also leads the rebound tally for Bryant with 184 total (60 off – 124 def) as well as the assist tally with 98. Withers and Timberlake are tied for the team-high blocks, each with 33.
Four Bryant players are averaging over 30 minutes per game; Timberlake (35.8), Withers (34.1) Pinzon (33.3), and Barry Evans (32.6).

January 16, 2025 | Earlier this year these two teams met for their first matchup of the season which saw the Bulldogs take a 79-89 win. In that game
Kacper Klaczek led UAlbany getting a double-double with a career-high tying 21 points performance and 10 rebounds, shooting 9-15 from the field (60.0%), 3-6 (50.0%) from the three with three assists and one block.
Justin Neely led the Purple and Gold with thirteen rebounds (1 off- 12 def) getting a double-double with 17 points.
Byron Joshua recorded a team-high two steals in the contest.
The Great Danes are 3-5 all-time against the Bulldogs and are 0-5 since Bryant joined the America East conference in 2022.
Scouting Vermont
Vermont is coming off a week where they lost to Binghamton (72-75) and got a win against Maine (55-49), making them 5-3 in conference play. This season the Catamounts are averaging 65.6 points, 22.8 field goals, 7.6 threes, 12.3 free throws, 33.4 rebounds, 12 assists, 11.7 turnovers, 6.3 steals, and 4.1 blocks per game.
Leading the Catamounts in points so far is TJ Hurley. Hurley has totaled 317 points, averaging 15.1 per game. The junior is shooting 98-234 (.419%) from the paint, 48-130 (.369%) threes, and 73-80 (.913%) from the line. Hurley leads Vermont in all scoring categories, as well as in total minutes (663 total), and is the only Catamount averaging over 30 minutes per game, averaging 31.6.
Ileri Ayo-Faleye and Sam Alamutu have the team-high total for rebounds, each with 109, and each averaging 4.7 per game. Ayo-Faleye has a team-high 40 blocks as well. Vermont's leader in assists, with 49, and steals, with 35, is Shamir Bogues.

Sebastian Thomas led all scorers with 31 points, going 11-16 from the field, 4-6 from three, and a perfect 5-5 from the charity stripe.
Muneer Newton led the team in rebounds with nine, also finishing with 10 points.
Amar'e Marshall led the team with six assists and finished second in scoring with 13. UAlbany shot 46.6% (27-58) from the field and 36.4% (8-22) from three. The Great Danes out-rebounded Vermont 34-34.
UAlbany has an overall record of 15-38 against Vermont and is 10-35 all-time in conference play.

February 1, 2025, | The UAlbany men's basketball team hosted the Binghamton Bearcats for the Big Purple Growl and Ferocious Feast, which ended in a 61-65 loss to the Bearcats. Two Great Danes scored over ten points,

Byron Joshua with 15, and both players with a team-high four assists each. Neely went a perfect 5-5 on free throws and led rebounds with 9 (1 off – 8 def) total. Klaczek had a team-high two blocks and four steals. Binghamton outrebounded UAlbany 33-26. The Great Danes shot 25-60 (41.7%) from the field, 5-23 (21.7%) from beyond the arc, and 6-7 (85.7%) from the line.

Drive the Lane with UAlbany Hoops is officially back for a third season! Coaches
Dwayne Killings and Colleen Mullen, along with select student-athletes, will join ESPN Radio 104.5 The Team's Charlie Voelker and Dan Bahl every Monday from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. live from City Line Bar & Grill for a weekly segment entitled 'Drive the Lane with UAlbany Hoops'.
Fans are invited to come out to City Line Bar & Grill to join Coach Killings, Coach Mullen, student-athletes, and the ESPN Radio 104.5 The Team crew. Food and drink specials will be available every week as the teams embark on their new seasons and talk hoops every Monday.
Postgame Show
The UAlbany Basketball Postgame Show returns this season to 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio. The show will begin immediately following all games, home and away, for fans to listen to as they commute home or tune in from a distance.
The show is set to run for 30 minutes following the final buzzer on 104.5 The Team. Fans will hear initial reactions and a game recap to start the segment followed by interviews with the team. Coach
Dwayne Killings and select student-athletes will join ESPN Radio's Rodger Wyland and Michael Johnson Jr. to break down the contest, give insights, opinions, and responses, and discuss the team's next matchup.
