BOSTON - Amaya Stewart of UAlbany women's basketball has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced Monday.
 
Freshman Amaya Stewart averaged 15.5 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting nearly 60% during a 2-0 week. Against Siena, the Pennsylvania native shot 6-9 for a team-high 17 points before going 5-10 for 14 points and seven rebounds against St. Bonaventure. Throughout the two games, Stewart totaled three assists, two steals, and one block.
 
This is Stewart's, and the team's, second AE weekly award of the season.
 
UAlbany will continue its season against RPI on Wednesday (Nov. 26) at Broadview Center.
