Key Stat Lines
  • Jack Shields finished the game 9-30 passing for 133 yards.
  • Aidan Semo collected the lone score for the Great Danes, finishing with 22 rushing yards.
  • Chris Gales led the defense with 17 tackles, a half a sack, and 1.5 tackles for loss.

Head Coach Jared Ambrose: "We played poorly in two out of the three phases today. We have to find answers, and I'm not sure where they are going to come from. But we will figure it out and look forward to next week."

How it Happened:
  • William & Mary scored a touchdown on the team's opening drive to jump out to a 7-0 lead. After the UAlbany defense held the Tribe in the red zone, a trick play on a field goal attempt saw Joey Tomasso run it in from five yards out.
  • The Great Danes responded by marching down the field, but a 48-yard field goal from James Bozek went wide right.
  • The score turned to 9-0 with a minute remaining in the first quarter. The Great Danes were pinned on their own one-yard line on fourth down when William & Mary defenders were able to block a punt from Owen Lawson, knocking the ball out of the back of the end zone.
  • Three minutes into the second quarter, the Tribe hit a 29-yard field goal to push their lead to 12-0.
  • The Tribe recorded another safety a minute later on another blocked punt to make it 14-0.
  • William & Mary's Armon Wright ran it in from 21 yards out on a screen pass with three minutes on the clock in the second to make it 21-0.
  • On the ensuing drive, UAlbany's Jack Shields was picked off by Trevon Cannon.
  • The score became 28-0 late in the second on a passing touchdown from Damian Harris who got the ball on an option pitch and found Jackson Blee in the end zone.
  • The Tribe missed a field goal as time expired in the first half, keeping the score 28-0.
  • The Tribe recorded their third safety of the game on their third blocked punt with just under seven minutes remaining in the third, 30-0.
  • William & Mary's Rashad Raymond made it 37-0 on a two-yard rush with 1:49 left in the third.
  • Aidan Semo ran it in for the Great Danes from a few yards out in the fourth for the team's first score of the game, 37-7. The score marked the third consecutive week that Semo has found the end zone.
