ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany football team is set to host its annual Hometown Heroes game this year against the University of Maine on Saturday, Sept. 28. Local Hometown Heroes can have their name, or a loved one's name who has served in the military or as a first responder, displayed on the back of a UAlbany football player's helmet with a special decal.

In addition, fans also have the opportunity to purchase $5 tickets to be donated to local Hometown Heroes by clicking here.

Special merchandise for this year's Hometown Heroes game is now available for purchase by clicking here. The store will remain open until Aug. 19. 
 
The 2024 matchup will mark the 11^th consecutive season the Great Danes have honored military members and recognized the family of Army Lt. Col. Todd J. Clark, a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, who was killed in action in Afghanistan. Additionally, for the fifth consecutive season, the program will show its appreciation for the Capital Region's police, firefighters, paramedics, and local healthcare workers.
