Short Story: The UAlbany baseball team began its series at Maine with a 6-3 victory on the back of a strong performance by
Dylan Banner and a five-spot in the fourth inning.

How it Happened:
- Dylan Banner started on the bump for the Great Danes. Geoff Mosseau got the start for the Black Bears.
- UAlbany got runners on the bases in the second with Levi McAllister singling through the left side and Cooper Loyal drawing a walk. With two outs, John Vitucci slugged a ground-rule double to drive in McAllister, giving the Great Danes an early 1-0 advantage.
- McAllister lead-off the fourth inning with a solo shot to left. With runners on the corners, Ryan Ferremi came through with two outs, hitting a single up the middle to score a run. With bases loaded, Luke Filippi slugged a double down the left field line to drive in three, extending UAlbany's lead to 6-0.
- Colton Carson came in to pitch for Maine in the fifth inning.
- With runners on the corners in the bottom of the seventh, Jake Marquez hit a sac fly to left field to score Connor Goodman, reducing the deficit to 6-1.
- The Great Danes brought Steven Turk in to pitch in the ninth.
- Following a hit-by-pitch to start the ninth, Jeremiah Jenkins launched a two-run shot. Cutting the Great Danes' lead to 6-3.
- Cregg Scherrer was called on to pitch for UAlbany with runners on first and second.
- The Great Danes held on to win game one of the series, 6-3.
