Short Story: The University at Albany men's lacrosse team scored 10 goals in the first quarter en route to a dominating 19-8 win over UMass Lowell to start America East conference play on Saturday afternoon. It was the most goals scored in a single game since the Great Danes dropped 19 in a 2021 matchup with Binghamton.

How it Happened:
- Ben Wimmer got the scoring started less than a minute into the contest, his first goal of the season on an assist by Chris Crapanzano.
- The Great Danes then exploded for five goals in less than three minutes. Jake Piseno started the avalanche, followed by scores from James Reid, Silas Richmond, Kevin Carney, and Daniel Kesselring to make it 6-0 UAlbany with 8:14 remining in the first.
- Richmond scored his second of the day with 3:12 on thew clock before Alex Pfeiffer made it 8-0 less than a minute later. Wimmer made it 9-0 with 55 seconds left and Carney made it a perfect 10-0 with two seconds on the clock before the first quarter ended.
- Eight seconds into the second, Wil Pepe made it 11-0. Conner Fingar made it 12-0 two minutes later with his first of the afternoon.
- After falling behind 12-0, UMass Lowell got on the board with 11:53 remaining in the second quarter on a goal from Colby Frigon. The River Hawks scored two more quick goals off the sticks of Johnny Soi and Garrett Murphy to make it 12-3.
- The two teams went scoreless for almost five minutes before Silas Richmond buried his third of the afternoon with a behind-the-head goal to put the Great Danes back up 10.
- The first half ended after three goals within 30 seconds of each other. Reid scored his second of the day, UMass Lowell's fourth of the afternoon came from Garrett Murphy, and UAlbany's Will Hardy scored his first to make it 15-4 at the break.
- Regan Endres won 14-19 faceoffs in the first half.
- UAlbany out shot UML 29-15, and 21-9 with shots on goal.
- Justin Longo scored the first goal of the second half for the River Hawks just over a minute in, 15-5.
- Daniel Kesselring scored his second of the afternoon just after the 10-minute mark in the third. UML answered a minute later to bring it back within 10, 16-6.
- The Great Danes scored two quick goals to open up the fourth and push the lead to 18-6. Kesselring notched his third of the afternoon for the hat trick just before Richmond clipped his fourth of the afternoon.
- The River Hawks made it 18-7 with 11:50 on the board when Garret Murphy scored his third of the day.
- Jackson Palumb got on the board midway through the final frame, pushing the lead to 19-7.
- Murphy notched his fourth of the afternoon with 2:06 remaining to bring UML to eight goals.
