HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts opened the game strong to take an 11-2 lead after an 8-0 scoring run.
- Kayla Cooper added a second basket for the Great Danes but Vermont held the lead heading into the second quarter.
- After two minutes of action, UAlbany put together two consecutive baskets with a three-pointer from Helene Haegerstrand and a two-point jumper from Marie Sepp.
- Sepp and redshirt-sophomore Gabriela Falcão made it 10 points in six minutes of second-quarter action but the Great Dane defense was unable to stop the Catamounts as they held a 29-14 lead with about four minutes left in the half.
- Coming out of halftime up, 35-15, Vermont extended its lead with an 8-3 scoring run.
- Cooper followed it up with an and-one play as the Great Danes worked to total 11 points in the third quarter.
- UAlbany opened the final quarter with a 5-2 scoring run to close the point gap to 57-31.
- After 40 minutes of action, the Catamounts won, 67-35.
NEXT: The Great Danes will return to the Capital Region for their final regular season game at home - Senior Day - on Saturday (Feb. 24).
