The Orange are amid a two-game losing streak with its most recent loss coming against Notre Dame on Saturday, Dec 7 by a score of 69-64. As a team, Syracuse is averaging 77.5 points, 28.4 field goals, 4.9 threes, 15.9 free throws, 39.4 rebounds, 14.0 assists, 10.3 turnovers, 4.3 steals, and 2.8 blocks per game.
 
J.J. Starling who has not played for the Orange since their 82-72 win over Cornell back on November 27, 2024, due to a left-hand injury that occurred on Monday, December 2, 2024, is the team's leading scorer averaging 19.8 points, shooting 44-94 (.468%) from the field while only 9-31 (.290%), and 22-32 (.688%) at the free throw with 36.7 minutes per game.
 
Donnie Freeman leads Syracuse with 70 rebounds (7 off – 63 def) for an average of 8.8 per game. Jaquan Carlos is the Cuse's leader in assists with 30. Chris Bell has recorded the most made three shooting 11-41.

The last time the Great Danes and Orange faced off was over a decade ago, when Syracuse was still a member of the Big East Conference, back on November 15, 2011, when #5 Syracuse defeated UAlbany 98-74.

December 7, 2024 | The Great Danes were recently defeated in overtime against Boston University by a score of 80-74. Against the Terriers, DeMarr Langford Jr. led UAlbany with 14 points shooting 6-11 in 38 minutes and going 2-2 at the free-throw line. Langford Jr. also led the Purple and Gold with seven rebounds (3 off-4 def). Kacper Klaczek shot 3-6 from beyond the arc while Amar'e Marshall and Amir Lindsey were 2-2 from three-point range. Byron Joshua picked up six assists with one block. Marshall was the Purple and Gold leader in steals with four. The Great Danes shot 27-61 (44.3%) from the field, 11-19 (57.9%) beyond the arc, and 9-12 (75.0) at the line.
 
New Look Danes
The Great Danes have overhauled its roster for the upcoming season. Returning to UAlbany for the upcoming campaign are Amar'e Marshall joined by Aaron Reddish, Zane Adnan, Bautista Giralt, Zach Matulu, and Justin Neely. Adding on to the Great Danes this year are transfers Sully Adewale, Kheni Briggs, Byron Joshua, Kacper Klaczek, DeMarr Langford Jr., Amir Lindsey, and Damon Strand. Donning the Purple and Gold for their freshmen season will be Amir Lindsey, Ma'Kye Taylor, and Kani Topuz.
 
Drive the Lane with UAlbany Hoops
Drive the Lane with UAlbany Hoops is officially back for a third season! Coaches Dwayne Killings and Colleen Mullen, along with select student-athletes, will join ESPN Radio 104.5 The Team's Charlie Voelker and Dan Bahl every Monday from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. live from City Line Bar & Grill for a weekly segment entitled 'Drive the Lane with UAlbany Hoops'. 
 
Fans are invited to come out to City Line Bar & Grill to join Coach Killings, Coach Mullen, student-athletes, and the ESPN Radio 104.5 The Team crew. Food and drink specials will be available weekly as the teams embark on their new seasons and talk hoops every Monday. 
 
Postgame Show
The UAlbany Basketball Postgame Show returns to 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio this season. The show will begin immediately following all games, home and away, for fans to listen to as they commute home or tune in from a distance.
 
The show is set to run for 30 minutes following the final buzzer on 104.5 The Team. Fans will hear initial reactions and a game recap to start the segment followed by interviews with the team. Coach Dwayne Killings and select student-athletes will join ESPN Radio's Rodger Wyland and Michael Johnson Jr. to break down the contest, give insights, opinions, and responses, and discuss the team's next matchup.
 
Fans can tune in to ESPN Radio 104.5 the Team by turning the dial on their radio or by streaming on their computers or smartphones.
