ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men's basketball team hits the road to play two games this week, starting off In Connecticut on Wednesday, December 18 to face Sacred Heart before traveling back to New York to play Fordham on Saturday, December 21.

Leading the Pack 

• So far this season, UAlbany has an overall record of 6-6, going 1-4 away; Sacred Heart is 2-0 at home; Fordham is 5-1 at home. 

• This season the Great Danes have averaged 77.3 points, 28.2 field goals, 7.7 three-pointers, and 13.3 free throws, with 30 rebounds, 12.6 assists, 10.1 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. 

• Byron Joshua has recorded the most time out on the court this season with 321 minutes and ties the best points per game average with 12.7. He also leads the team in steals with 22 and assists with 34. 

• DeMarr Langford Jr. Is 55-92 on field goals and has a team-high field goal percentage, of .598%. He also leads the team in blocks with four.   

• Justin Neely continues to lead the team in rebounds with 77 total (25 off – 52 def), averaging 6.4 per game. 

• Amir Lindsey leads the Great Danes in three-point percentage shooting 12-27 (.444%). 

Scouting Sacred Heart 
Sacred Heart has an overall record of 4-6. The Pioneers have averaged 72.3 points, 25.7 field goals, 9.3 three's, 11.6 free throws, 34.2 rebounds, 14 assists, 13 turnovers, 6.8 steals and 2.5 blocks per game. 
  
Amiri Stewart leads Sacred Heart in points (131), steals (22) and blocks (6), and has the second-best points per game average (13.1) Leading the Pioneers in in field goal percentage (.659%), 3-point percentage (.688%), and points per game (13.7) is Anquan Hill. Bryce Johnson leads the team with 58 total rebounds (20 off – 38 def) and has the highest average rebounds (5.8) 
  
Previously vs. Sacred Heart 
The Great Danes have an overall 2-0 record against the Pioneers and look to extend their winning record. The last time the two teams faced each other was December 19, 2023, which saw UAlbany come away with a 93-79 win. Four Great Danes finished with double-digit points in the winning effort including Amar'e Marshall. UAlbany outrebounded Sacred Heart, 40-22. As a team, the Great Danes shot 53.4% from the field and 47.6% from behind the arc. Sacred Heart scored 54 of its 79 points in the paint. 
  
Scouting Fordham 
The Rams are 7-5 overall and are currently on a four-game winning streak, with three of those wins happening on their home court. Fordham is averaging 76.1 points per game, 26.7 field goals, 8.5 threes 37.8 rebounds, 13.8 turnovers, 8.3 steals and 3.4 blocks. 
  
Jackie Johnson III and Romad Dean are the only two players to start all twelve games for Fordham. Johnson III leads the team in points (228), points per game (19), steals (20), 3-pointers (33), and field goals (82). Dean leads the team all-around in rebounds with 68 total (12 off – 56 def) and averaging 5.7. Abdou Tsimbila leads the Rams in field goal percentage (.561%) and blocks (17).  
  
Previously v. Fordham 
The Great Danes have only played the Rams once in school history, the game took place on February 17, 1923, and saw Fordham come away with a 40-17 victory.  
  
Last Time Out 
December 14, 2024, | The Great Danes are coming off a 70-77 loss to Drexel. Against the Dragons, Amar'e Marshall was UAlbany's leading scorer with 19 points. DeMarr Langford Jr. shot 7-9 (77.8%) from the field for 14 points while grabbing five rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 33 minutes of work. Justin Neely tied Langford Jr. for a team-high of five rebounds. In 37 minutes on the court, Kacper Klaczek shot 6-11 (54.5%), finishing with 14 points. UAlbany finished the game shooting 27-57 (47.4%) from the field, 2-19 (10.5%) beyond the arc, and went 14-15 (93.3%) from the free throw line along with ten steals. 
 
Postgame Show 
The UAlbany Basketball Postgame Show returns this season to 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio. The show will begin immediately following all games, home and away, for fans to listen to as they commute home or tune in from a distance. 
  
The show is set to run for 30 minutes following the final buzzer on 104.5 The Team. Fans will hear initial reactions and a game recap to start the segment followed by interviews with the team. Coach Dwayne Killings and select student-athletes will join ESPN Radio's Rodger Wyland and Michael Johnson Jr. to break down the contest, give insights, opinions, and responses, and discuss the team's next matchup. 
  
Fans can tune in to ESPN Radio 104.5 the Team by turning the dial on their radio or by streaming on their computers or smartphones.
