Clarke, Williams Sweep Weekly Track Awards

BOSTON – The University at Albany track & field program swept the two America East Track Performer of the Week awards, the conference announced Wednesday.  Dominique Clarke and Travis Williams earned the honor following their performance last weekend at UConn's Dogfight, joining Field Performers Kevin McGrath from New Hampshire and Stella Inman from Maine.

Clarke, a junior sprinter from Kingston, Jamaica, won the women's 100m at UConn with a time of 11.59, just off her season-best mark of 11.57 from her season opener on March 18 at the UCF Black & Gold Invite.  Clarke also ran the second leg on the victorious women's 4x100m relay, setting a season-best and Northeast Region-leading time of 45.14.

Williams, a sophomore sprinter from the Bronx, N.Y., won the men's 100m at UConn in a personal-best time 10.22.  It is the second-fastest wind-legal time recorded by a Great Dane, and third fastest overall, behind teammate Shak Williams' school-record 10.21 and wind-aided 10.17 from 2022.  T. Williams leads the America East and the Northeast Region in the men's 100m, ranks 12th in the NCAA East, and tied for 20th across the NCAA.

UAlbany visits UMass for the first time since the 2011 season to compete in the Flagship Spring Opener on Saturday.
