BOSTON – The University at Albany track & field program won two of four America East awards this week, the conference announced Wednesday.Â
Travis Robinson was named for Men's Field and
Brinesha Derrick-Bain was named for Women's Track. The Great Danes competed at UMass Amherst last weekend in the Flagship Spring Open, their first visit to UMass in more than a decade.

Robinson, a junior thrower from Kingston, Jamaica, won his signature event, the discus throw, in a season-best mark of 176-09.00. He also placed fourth in the shot put in 51-11.25. In total, Robinson scored 14 of the UAlbany men's 47 points.

Derrick-Bain, a freshman sprinter/hurdler from Brooklyn, N.Y., earned her second win of the season in the 400m hurdles. Her time of 1:02.96 was her second-best of the season so far, scoring 10 of the UAlbany women's 50 points.

The Great Danes compete at two meets this week. The multis athletes return to UMass for the Multi Events Meet, their first opportunity to compete in a full heptathlon and decathlon, and the rest of the team returns to UConn this weekend for the Northeast Challenge.
