ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany's women's golf team is on the road for a two-day invitational in Georgia.
The Georgia State Spring Invitational will take place at the Rivermont Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday (March 27-28). The Panthers will be hosting 15 teams - UAlbany, Appalachian State, Bradley, Boston College, Charleston Southern, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb, Murray State, Seton Hall, Troy, UNC-Charlotte, and Western Kentucky. The course will feature a total of three rounds in the two-day event with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.

SPRING INTO ACTION
- The Great Danes returned to action for the spring at the Columbia Classic (Feb. 11-13) in Florida.
- After earning an even par in the first round, junior Mariel Tee led the team with a through two rounds to tie for 23rd place.
- Freshman Thantita Aungsuseewong finished with a +13 overall to finish second on the team.
- Sophomore Claudia Blöchliger led the Great Danes on day two with a +2.
- Most recently, UAlbany competed in the annual Sacred Heart Spring Break Invitational (Mar. 13-14).
- With all seven golfers seeing the course, three finished in the top 20 - Tee (T-11th), junior Malene Clausen (13th), and junior Maddie Campos (T-20th).
- Clausen golfed a team-low 75 (+3) in the first round while Tee's 75 on day two helped her improve to finish just outside of the top 10.
FALL REWIND
- UAlbany competed at six events in the fall - the Yale Invitational (Sept. 10-11), the Crosstown Challenge (Sept. 18), the Princeton Invitational (Sept. 24-25), the Hartford Hawks Invitational (Oct. 3-4), the SHU Fall Classic (Oct. 16-17), and the Lehigh Invitational (Oct. 24-25).
- Freshman Lucia Esteban led the Great Danes in all three rounds in Connecticut (Yale). Her final score was just eight above par.
- Tallying the best single-round score UAlbany has seen at Wolferts Roost, Mariel Tee led the Great Danes with a 67 on the par-70 golf course. Esteban followed Tee with a +1 at the Crosstown Challenge.
- As a team, UAlbany beat Siena at the crosstown competition with one of the best team scores in Crosstown Challenge history - 284.
- In addition to Esteban and Tee, Claudia Blöchliger, junior Maddie Campos, and junior Katelin Richards competed at Yale while all seven Great Danes played the Crosstown Challenge round.
- Three different golfers led the Great Danes in each round at Princeton. Esteban led in the first round while Tee and Blöchliger topped the team in the second and third rounds, respectively.
- Earning an even par in the final round of the competition, Blöchliger finished with a score of 227 through three rounds to finish first on the team and 22nd overall.
- As a team, UAlbany improved two positions to finish tied for eighth (921) after closing the Princeton Invitational with a 301 team score in round three.
- The Great Danes' most recent round of play was a team-low 302 on day two at the Hartford Hawks Invitational. Improving two places after this round, UAlbany finished third in Connecticut.
- Tee grabbed her second team-leading performance, first in a multi-round weekend, with a second-place finish (151 (+11)) at Hartford.
- Richards added a top-10 finish with a 78 on day one and a 77 on day two.
- At the SHU Fall Classic, UAlbany shot a 315 which placed them sixth on the first day. On day two, the Great Danes shot a 316, which allowed them to finish with a 631 in a tie for fourth overall.
- Richards led the Great Danes as she placed seventh overall by shooting a score of 151 (+7). Not far behind her was Tee who shot a 157, allowing her to tie for 17th overall.
- Junior Malene Clausen competed as an individual at the classic. With a +14, she tied for 19th overall.
- Blöchliger led UAlbany with a top-10 finish at Lehigh. Golfing 75 strokes in each round of the two-round event, she finished just six over par.
- Thantita Aungsuseewong golfed with one additional stroke for a top-20 finish at Lehigh.
NEXT: The Great Danes will take a one-week break before seeing their first, and last, invitational in New York - the St. John's Spring Intercollegiate (April 10-11).
