Location: Le Moyne College Invitational at Bellevue CC in Syracuse, N.Y.
 
Short Story: The University at Albany women's golf team ended its fall season with a win at the Le Moyne College Invitational, played at Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse, New York.
 
The team played through harsh conditions in Monday's opening round but ended the day with a 14-stroke lead. Though some ground was lost on day two, the Great Danes held on to secure a nine-stroke victory that included other MAAC teams such as Siena, Fairfield, and Manhattan.
 
Lucia Esteban came home as UAlbany's top golfer, finishing in a tie for first place at +15 while playing as an individual. Madison Kuratani finished two strokes behind at +17 in a tie for third. Thantita Aungsuseewong shot two rounds of +9 for a T-6 place finish as the third Great Dane inside the top-10. She was followed by Callie Taylor at +22 (T-12), Mia Cepeda at +23 (T-14) and Nicole Criscone at +30 (T-33).

Head Coach Colleen Cashman: "We came into this last tournament of the fall with the goal to win. Playing through some of the worst weather we have ever seen in yesterday's round, it was nice to secure the lead early. The 25mph winds, sideways rain, and 45-degree cold weather made for some very, very difficult conditions. Going into today, we knew we had a solid lead, but we were slowly leaking some oil. But we hung tough at the end and secured the team victory! Mission accomplished. I'm very proud of Lucia as well for going into the tournament and coming out tied at the top. Playing as an individual in any tournament frees you up to relax and take advantage of a little less pressure and that's exactly what she was able to do. This tournament was definitely a team effort from top to bottom and it's very satisfying to finish off the fall season with a victory!"
