BOSTON – The University at Albany men's basketball team has been picked to finish seventh in the America East Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced Wednesday morning.
The Great Danes earned 23 points to land in the seventh spot under third year Head Coach
Dwayne Killings. Vermont topped the list with 62 points and six first place votes.
The Catamounts were trailed by UMass Lowell, coming in with 55 points and the remaining three first place votes. Bryant finished third with 51 points, followed by Binghamton (44), Maine (36), and UMBC (25). New Hampshire (18) and NJIT (10) finished in eighth and ninth to round out the poll.
UAlbany is set to begin the 2023-24 campaign on Nov. 7 with a matchup on the road against UMass. The Great Danes will play four road games and one neutral site game before opening the newly renovated Broadview Center on Nov. 29 against Boston University. In total, UAlbany will play 12 games at Broadview Center after spending the entire 2022-23 season playing home contests at Hudson Valley Community College while renovations were taking place.
Conference play for UAlbany begins on Jan. 6 at NJIT.
