ALBANY, N.Y. - University at Albany women's volleyball's
Adam Rollman has been promoted from assistant coach to associate head coach. Rollman joined
Josh Pickard's staff in his first year as head coach for the 2019 season.
"This has been a long time coming," said head coach
Josh Pickard. "Adam has worked extremely hard and always strives to improve our program. His relationship with the players and knowledge of the game have been an immense asset to both me and the program."
Rollman has been instrumental in the Great Danes' success throughout the last three seasons. In each of the seasons Rollman has been on the team, UAlbany has competed in the America East Championship game. In 2019, he assisted in leading the Great Danes to an America East Championship Title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
With extensive experience in coaching, Rollman was in charge of running the defense and blocking for three years. Along with the promotion, he will now be coaching the offense and passing.
From 2019-2021 he has coached multiple defensive players to weekly and postseason awards in just three seasons. Under his direction, three student-athletes have earned nine AE Player of the Week awards,
Charlotte Macken has tallied five AE Defensive Specialist of the Week awards, and one rookie earned the weekly award. In the postseason, Rollman's defensive coaching has led to five First Team and two Second Team selections with an additional two All-Rookie honors. Named, with his coworkers, as the 2019 America East Coaching Staff of the Year, Rollman led
Charlotte Macken to be named the Defensive Specialist of the Year following the 2020-21 season.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Rollman serves as both the recruiting and social media coordinator for the team.
Before becoming a Great Danes, Rollman built his resume working for Missouri State (2017-19), Central Michigan (2015-17), and Jacksonville (2014-15) as an assistant coach.
Rollman graduated from Nebraska in 2012 with a degree in International Studies and Political Science.
