How it Happened
- Lafayette took the first shot of the game nearly minutes after the opening kickoff. The next shot did not come until 12 minutes of game time later, with the Great Danes firing off their first effort, a strike from Domenic Baumann that missed wide right.
- The Leopards won two corner kicks in the ensuing five minutes of play before scoring the first goal of the night in the 30th minute when Will Echeverria found Hale Lombard to give Lafayette the lead.
- Lafayette held the same 1-0 advantage at halftime, having narrowly outshot UAlbany 4-3 in the first 45 minutes, but held a 4-2 disadvantage in corner kicks.
- The Great Danes came out in the second half putting pressure on Lafayette's defense, but the Leopards withstood the initial onslaught. Their defense ultimately locked down UAlbany, holding the Great Danes to zero shots attempted in the second half.
- Hale found the back of the net once again to put Lafayette up 2-0, which would prove to be the final score, in the 52nd minute off a setup by Benji Grossi.
- Lafayette's fortunes on the corner kick turned around in the second half, drawing four to UAlbany's zero.Â
