BOSTON - The University at Albany women's volleyball program has been picked to finish second in the 2022 America East Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference announced Wednesday.
Defending America East Regular-Season and Tournament Champion UMBC earned four first-place votes for 23 points to rank at the top of the preseason poll. The Great Danes, who visited the America East Championship in 2021, follow with 19 points
Bryant and New Hampshire each earned one first-place vote for 17 points to tie for third place. Binghamton (9) and NJIT (5) round out the conference with their respective point totals.
The Great Danes are set to kick off the season at the JMU Invitational hosted by James Madison, August 26-27. After facing Kent State (10 am) and JMU (7 pm) on Friday, UAlbany will see Robert Morris (4 pm) to close the weekend on Saturday.
