Short Story: The University at Albany baseball team fell behind 5-0 to the UMass Lowell River Hawks and battled all the way back to make the score 5-4, but came up just one hit short.
Ray Weber allowed three earned runs through six innings, and four different Great Danes recorded a multi-hit game.
Head Coach Jon Mueller: "The difference in today's game was the two out hits. UMass Lowell was able to get a few and we struggled in that area. Looking forward to tomorrow."

- Will Binder, Brad Malm, Jason Bottari, and Josh Loeffler all recorded two hits. Binder, Malm, and Bottari all finished with an RBI. Malm (double) and Bottari (triple) were the only Great Danes with extra base hits.

- The Great Danes left 11 runners on base, UMass Lowell left eight.

How it Happened:
- Ray Weber started on the mound for UAlbany, LJ Keevan started for UMass Lowell.
- Umass Lowell struck first in the second inning off of an RBI double from Genther, scoring Rose from second.
- The River Hawks made it 2-0 in the third when Gallagher singled through the right side, scoring Humphrey.
- UMass Lowell added two more runs in the fourth. Gallagher singled through the right side to score Humphrey, and Genther later hit a SAC fly to score Rose to make the score 4-0. Both runs were unearned.
- Brendan Williams came in to pitch for the River Hawks to begin the bottom of the fifth.
- The River Hawks added another run the sixth when Luccini singled to right to score Genther, pushing the score to 5-0.
- The Great Danes scored their first run of the afternoon in the sixth when Brad Malm scored on a wild pitch. He previously singled to get on base.
- Kyle McCaffrey came in to pitch for UAlbany to start the seventh.
- Josh Loeffler scored in the seventh off the bat of Will Binder, who grounded out to short to get the run in. The Great Danes added another run shortly after on an RBI double off the bat of Brad Malm, scoring John Daly and making the score 5-3.
- Ryan Towle entered the game for UMass Lowell midway through the eighth.
- Marshall Winn entered the game for UAlbany to start the ninth.
- Jason Bottari hit a stand up double to the gap in left-center in the bottom of the ninth to score Daly with two outs. The effort would not be enough however, as the game would end with the next at-bat.
