BOSTON – University at Albany thrower Shelby Bigsby has been named America East Women's Field Performer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.  She was named alongside Binghamton's Emily Mackay, named for women's track, and men's performers Dan Shaffer from Binghamton and James Kotoswki from UMass Lowell.
 
Bigsby, a senior from Montclair, N.J., placed first and second in the women's discus and shot put, respectively, at last weekend's UConn Northeast Challenge.  In her signature event, the shot put, Bigsby recorded a runner-up mark of 47-05.25.  In the discus, she recorded a personal-best of more than 21' to win in 166-09.00.
 
Four Great Danes will head south this weekend to visit the Virginia Challenge while the majority of the team will stay home to host the program's first meet since 2019, the Bobbi Palma Spring Classic.
