Homecoming for Coach Killings
Head Coach Dwayne Killings is a native of Amherst, Mass., and is very familiar with the UMass basketball program. Killings served as a ball boy under the John Calipari-led Minutemen from 1990-92. Later in life, Killings attended UMass from 1999-2001.

Rookie of the Week

Against a strong FAU team this week, Beagle had his second career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. This is the second time Beagle has won the conference's Rookie of the Week award, also claiming the title on Nov. 14.

Scouting UMass
The Minutemen enter Monday's contest with an overall record of 6-1, having won five in a row. The lone loss for UMass came at the hands of Towson, a familiar opponent that UAlbany kicked the year off against. Most recently, on Friday night, the Minutemen stayed in the state of Massachusetts to take down Harvard, 71-68. The game marked the best start to a season since 2013-14. UMass trailed by as many as 11 in the second half before storming back to take their first lead since the 11:48 mark of the first half with just 2:53 remaining.

UMass is averaging 70 points per game while shooting 43.1% from the field, 39.3% from three, and 64.9% from the charity stripe. The Minutemen also bring down 37.4 rebounds per game. Opponents are being held to 65 points while shooting 42.2% from the field and just 27.1% from three. Noah Fernandes leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.4 each outing. He's followed by Matt Cross (10.2 ppg), T.J. Weeks Jr. (9.7 ppg), and RJ Luis (8.9 ppg).

#AEHoops Notes (11.28.22)
Bryant and UMass Lowell continued their strong starts to the seasons with perfect weeks. Week #3 was highlighted by Bryant's 73-72 win at Syracuse on Saturday. The win propelled the Bulldogs to a 5-1 start. UMass Lowell beat Brown and Stonehill to move to 6-1, its best start in the program's Division I era.

Fans will once again be able to watch every #AEHoops game this season regardless of where they live! The majority games will air on The AE on ESPN, either ESPN+ or ESPN3, in the United States. Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV.

Coming off winning it's league-best ninth men's basketball title, Vermont is the favorite in the 2022-23 America East Men's Basketball preseason poll. The Catamounts, who also claimed their league-record sixth-straight regular-season title last season, edged out league newcomer Bryant atop the poll. Vermont and Bryant combined to claim four of the six preseason All-Conference team members, which was also unveiled with the poll.

Binghamton's Jacob Falko is the lone returning first-team All-America East team member from last season on the preseason All-League squad. He is joined by UMass Lowell's Max Brooks along with Bryant's Charles Pride, a first-team all-NEC choice last year, and Earl Timberlake, as well as Vermont's Dylan Penn and Finn Sullivan.
