ALBANY, N.Y.  – A total of eight different Great Danes have collected 2021 Phil Steele Postseason FCS All-America and All-Conference honors. Two were named to the Freshman All-America and All-CAA Teams, while an additional six Great Danes also collected All-CAA Team honors.

Leading the way was
Jackson Ambush and
Jared Verse, who were both named to the 2021 Phil Steele FCS Freshman All-America 1
st Team on Defense. In addition, Verse was named to the Phil Steele FCS All-CAA 3
rd Team Defense, and Ambush was named to the 4
th Team Defense. Verse was a dominant player on the defensive line for UAlbany this year. He ranked third in the CAA in sacks with 0.95 per game, tallying 10 solo and one assisted for a 10.5 total on the season. From start to finish, Ambush led the team in tackles on a weekly basis. He finished the year just shy of triple digits, topping out at 97 - 53 solo and 44 assisted. That mark put him fifth in the entire CAA at 8.82 tackles per game.

Joining Verse and Ambush on the Phil Steele FCS All-CAA Team Defense was
Larry Walker Jr. (2
nd Team),
Anthony Lang (3
rd Team), and
Danny Damico (4
th Team).

Offensively, running back
Karl Mofor was placed on the Phil Steele FCS All-CAA 1
st Team Offense after placing second in the CAA with 87.4 yards per game. He finished the year with 962 yards, totaling 13 TDs, with 12 coming on the ground and one coming through the air. Joining Mofor on offense was standout rookie receiver
Roy Alexander, who was named to the 4
th Team Offense.

Rounding out the pack, kicker
Dylan Burns was named to the Phil Steele FCS All-CAA 3
rd Team for the special teamers. Burns finished 2021 by going 10-of-12 on field goals, hitting 22-of-24 PATs.
