GREAT DANE REWIND
- UAlbany opened their home slate with the Crowne Plaza Albany - The Desmond Hotel Volleyball Classic on September 3. The Great Danes closed the tournament defeating Cornell, 3-1 on Sept. 4.
- UAlbany opened their season with a 1-2 record at the Syracuse Tournament (Aug. 27-28), defeating UB (Aug. 28), 3-0, for their first win of the season, before beating Marist, 3-1, on Tuesday (Aug. 31). The Great Danes traveled to Texas for the Texas A&M Invitational (Sept. 10-11) and competed in the Jayhawk Classic hosted by the University of Kansas (Sept. 17-18).
- Closing out their non-conference season, UAlbany hosted Siena for a 3-0 match in the first-ever School Supplies Night (Sept. 22).
- Four student-athletes, including two freshmen, have seen all 52 sets on the season - junior Kamara Kelly, senior Charlotte Macken, freshman Elaina Wamhoff, and freshman Anissia Wong. Junior Malea Stanton and freshman Oren Abutbul have seen the court for all but one set (51 sets).
- Abutbul leads the offense with 123 kills and 2.41 kills/set.
- Stanton and Wamhoff serve as the team's main setters. Stanton leads with 254 assists and 4.98 assists/set. Wamhoff follows with 207 assists and 3.98 assists/set.
- Macken owns a team-high on both offense and defense. She leads with 20 service aces, 219 digs, and 4.21 digs/set.
- Wong leads the blockers with 59.0 total blocks, including seven solo blocks, and 1.13 blocks/set.
- Other Great Dane standouts include freshman Lilou Stegeman (second on the team with 42.0 blocks), Kelly (second with 121 kills and 2.33 kills/set), senior Regan Wright (second with 13 service aces, 113 digs, and 2.51 digs/set)
ABOUT BINGHAMTON
- The Bearcats completed the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 4-8 record.
- Binghamton went 1-2 at the Towson Tournament (Aug. 27-28) before competing at the Lehigh Tournament (Sept. 3-4) and the Providence Tournament (Sept. 10-11).
- In the last week before conference play, the Bearcats traveled to Siena (Sept. 15) for a 3-2 win before playing in a home-and-home against Delaware State (Sept. 17, 19) for two losses.
- Before hosting the Great Danes, the Bearcats will play NJIT on Friday, September 24.
- Stefana Stan leads the team with 117 kills and 2.72 kills/set.
- The Bearcats' setter, Kiara Adams, owns 311 assists for 7.23 assists/set.
- On defense, Emily Rail leads with 171 digs (3.98 digs/set) and Anna Sprys leads the blockers with 27.0 total blocks, including eight solo blocks.
- Three Bearcats have totaled at least 10 services - Tyra Wilson (13), Adams (12), and Elis Gadelha (10).
SERIES AGAINST THE BEARCATS
- The Great Danes lead the all-time series, 33-12.
- Currently, UAlbany has won the last eight matches in the series. Binghamton last beat the Great Danes in 2016.
- The current win streak is tied for the longest win streak in series history. Between 2006 and 2009, UAlbany tallied eight straight wins over the Bearcats.
- During the 2020 season, played in the spring of 2021, the Great Danes beat Binghamton, 3-0, twice.
- Regan Wright led game one (Mar. 7) with eight kills but Danielle Tedesco, ShaLi Niu, and Kamara Kelly all tallied six kills each. Charlotte Macken totaled 14 digs and Noa Brach earned four blocks.
- In game two (Mar. 14), Kelly led with 12 kills and Tedesco followed with 10. Both Macken and Kelly tallied 15 digs.

- Conference play will begin on Friday, September 24.

- The Great Dane volleyball team was picked to finish first in the conference in the preseason coaches' poll. UMBC and New Hampshire were voted into a tie for second place.
- UAlbany added seven new players to the roster for the 2021 season.
