LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University at Albany's
Danielle Tedesco was named Honorable Mention All-East Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), announced Tuesday.

Returning for a fifth year on the team, Tedesco recently earned the America East Player of the Year award as the most all-around player in the conference. She remained in the top of the conference in three major categories - hitting percentage, blocks, and kills.Â

Closing the season with her team at the America East Championship, Tedesco tallied a .314 hitting percentage and 96 total blocks to lead the Great Danes.Â

Following the close of her final regular season, she sat third in the conference with a .318 hitting percentage, fourth with 88.0 blocks, and sixth with 241 kills. When considering only conference matches, Tedesco finished first in the conference with a .355 hitting percentage, third with 52 blocks, fourth with 161 points, and fifth with 129 kills.Â

A Cazenovia, N.Y. native, this is Tedesco's first all-region nod.Â

UAlbany finished 14-15 on the season, ending the year at the America East Championship in Maryland. The Great Danes fell in five sets to first-seeded UMBC.
