BOSTON – On Tuesday, the America East announced its list of Presidential Scholar-Athletes for the Fall 2020 semester. Six total student-athletes from three of the America East's member institutions satisfied the criteria for the honor. Three of the student-athletes were Great Danes.

To qualify as a Presidential Scholar-Athlete, an individual must be graduating and have accumulated a career undergraduate GPA of 3.75 or higher.

Three Great Danes programs were represented among this year's class of America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes:
Adam Lulka from men's basketball,
Jakob Patterson from men's lacrosse, and
Hailey Summers from women's soccer.

Lulka graduates this December with a degree in Psychology and a 4.00 GPA. Patterson graduated in the summer with a degree in Sociology and a 3.86 GPA. Summers graduates this December with a degree in Criminal Justice and a 3.97 GPA. Lulka and Summers had the two highest GPA marks of the six honorees.

The Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award was approved by the America East Board of Presidents in June of 2013 and was implemented for the 2013-14 academic year. In total, 350 elite student-athletes have been honored as part of the program.
