COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – Two former University at Albany field hockey players have been named to the U.S. Women's National Development Squad that will travel to Santiago, Chile, in May.
Kelsey Briddell, who wrapped up her collegiate career this past fall, and Kelly Bonner-Marks, who graduated in 2015, will compete in the four-game series against Chile's Women's and U-19 Women's National Team, USA Field Hockey announced this past week.
Briddell and Bonner-Marks were chosen for the tour roster after taking part in a series of training camps over the past two months.
The games will be played at the following days and times:
- Saturday, May 19, 3 p.m. ET
- Sunday, May 20, 3 p.m. ET
- Tuesday, May 22, 10 a.m. ET
- Wednesday, May 23, 10 a.m. ET
Briddell, a forward/midfielder from Gansevoort, N.Y. (Saratoga High), was named to the 2017 America East All-Tournament team and finished the regular season with five goals and seven assists. She started all 61 games from her sophomore through her senior seasons. For her career, she totaled 15 goals and 20 assists.
Bonner-Marks, a forward from Elverson, Pa. (Owen J. Roberts), completed her UAlbany career with 14 goals and four assists after transferring from Old Dominion. She was a co-vice captain as a senior, helping the Great Danes reach the national semifinals.
Before leaving for Chile, they'll participate in one more camp in Lancaster, Pa., later this week.
