UPDATE: Due to the impending inclement weather, the UAlbany baseball game at Central Connecticut State originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 13 at 3:00 p.m. has been cancelled. No makeup date has been announced. The original story follows.
ALBANY, N.Y. – One day after returning from Seattle, the University at Albany baseball team will be on the road again for a single game at Central Connecticut State Tuesday afternoon.
The Great Danes (5-4) took two of three games from the Redhawks on the West Coast over the weekend, winning their second consecutive series. Originally scheduled as a four-game series, the winter weather late last week delayed the Danes' cross-country flight, forcing the elimination of Friday's single game. UAlbany dropped the first of two Saturday games but came back to win in extra innings in Saturday's late game and then won the series with a victory on Sunday.
Central Connecticut last played a single game against Massachusetts, falling to the Minutemen 4-2. The Blue Devils have played just one game since March 4 and have lost two straight.
After the single game against the Blue Devils, the Great Danes will visit Hofstra on Saturday and Sunday for four games. Next week, UAlbany will play a double-header at Saint Peter's on Tuesday before opening America East play at UMass Lowell on March 24.
THE OUTLOOK: Central Connecticut State (2-5) | Tuesday, March 13, 3:00 p.m. | New Britain, Conn.
