Connor Fields, Zach Ornstein Honored with America East Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

BOSTON – After helping the UAlbany men's lacrosse team to the program's first top-5 victory since 2014, Connor Fields and Zach Ornstein earned America East weekly awards for the period ending April 24th.
Fields was selected as the America East Offensive Player of the Week while Ornstein was chosen as the league's rookie of the week. Fields picks up his third conference weekly honor of the year while Ornstein earns his second.
In total this season, UAlbany has had 10 America East weekly awards, including four offensive, four defensive and two rookie honors.
The duo helped then #6/6 UAlbany defeat #4/4 Yale 14-13 in overtime on Saturday for the team's seventh straight victory.
Fields tied a season-high eight points in the win off three goals and five assists. He had hand in five of UAlbany's seven scores after halftime, including the game-winning assist to Seth Oakes in overtime.
Ornstein served as UAlbany's primary faceoff man in the game, winning 16-of-29 at center circle and grabbing 12 ground balls. He helped UAlbany earn a 16-14 faceoff advantage against Yale.
Fields, Ornstein and the Great Danes take on Siena at home on Tuesday, April 26th at 7 p.m.
