ALBANY, N.Y. – UAlbany sophomore guard Joe Cremo has been selected to the 2016-17 America East Men's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team, the league announced on Wednesday.
The 2015-16 America East Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year shot 51.4% from the field and 85.9% from the line last season, averaging 10.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. He finished with 19 double-digit scoring games, including nine in a row from December 19th through January 18th. Cremo also earned a place on the America East All-Rookie Team.
Cremo is the youngest member of the preseason all-conference team being the only player on sophomore standing.
The rest of the team is filled out by Trae Bell-Haynes of Vermont, Tanner Leissner of New Hampshire, Jairus Lyles of UMBC, Will Rodriguez of Binghamton and Jahad Thomas of UMass Lowell.
Last season, two UAlbany players, Peter Hooley and Evan Singletary, were selected to the 2015-16 preseason all-conference team. This year marks the third season in a row that UAlbany has landed a player on the preseason all-conference team.
The preseason all-conference team was voted on by the league's nine head coaches.
