Five-Time America East Champion Men's Basketball Completes 2015-16 Schedule with Conference Slate

ALBANY, N.Y. – With the release of the 16-game league schedule, University at Albany rounds out a 31-game regular season slate for 2015-16. The Great Danes open America East play hosting UMBC on Jan. 6, and welcome Vermont as well as Hartford to SEFCU Arena on Saturday nights this year. All game times are forthcoming.

After facing the Retrievers on Wednesday, Jan. 6, UAlbany makes an early trip to Patrick Gym on Saturday, Jan. 9. In last season's meeting in Burlington, Evan Singletary sank a last-second three at the buzzer for a 47-44 victory in Catamount country. Singletary led the Purple & Gold to its first regular season win at Vermont since 2009.
Will Brown & co., return to SEFCU Arena for New Hampshire on Tuesday, Jan. 12. The Danes swept the Wildcats 3-0 in 2014, including a tight 60-58 win in the America East Semifinals. UAlbany keeps the New England theme alive with a trip to Maine on Friday, Jan. 15.
Ringing in a long weekend, UAlbany hosts Binghamton on Monday, Jan. 18. The Purple & Gold has won 10 in a row against the Bearcats, dating back to 2011.
In a rematch of the 2015 America East Championship, UAlbany meets Stony Brook for the first time on Friday, Jan. 22 at Island Federal Credit Union Arena on Long Island. The Great Danes face UMass Lowell at home on Wednesday, Jan. 27 and hit the road for Harford on Saturday, Jan. 30 to conclude January.
The Purple & God begins the second round of America East play at UMBC on Wednesday, Feb. 3. For its first Saturday home game of the conference slate, UAlbany welcomes Vermont to SEFCU Arena on Saturday, Feb. 6. In a quick turnaround, the Danes face Binghamton in Vestal on Monday, Feb. 8.
After visiting New Hampshire on Thursday, Feb. 11, the Danes have three of their last four regular season conference games at home, hosting Maine (Sunday, Feb. 14), Stony Brook (Wednesday, Saturday, Feb. 17) and Hartford (Saturday, Feb. 27) to wrap up the schedule. The defending regular season champions challenge UMass Lowell in Lowell on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
The America East Tournament begins with the quarterfinal round at the sites of the top four seeds on March 2. The semifinals will take place on March 7, with the final on March 12. The league will also announce its ESPN package later this fall.
UAlbany won its fifth overall and third consecutive America East title in 2015. Peter Hooley hit a last-second three against Stony Brook at SEFCU Arena in the league final. The Danes earned a 14-seed in the Columbus Regional, and met No. 3 seed Oklahoma. Will Brown returns his starting All-Conference backcourt from one season ago, a team that went a program best 15-1 in conference play.
