ALBANY, N.Y. – After a storybook campaign in 2014-15, University at Albany men's basketball announced its non-conference slate for 2015-16 on Monday. The upcoming season features eight repeat opponents from 2014-15, as well as an appearance in the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Classic. All game times as well as TV broadcasts will be announced at a later date.

“I am looking forward to the upcoming season and I am confident that our non-conference schedule will prepare us for America East Conference play,” said head coach Will Brown. “We are excited about opening the season at Kentucky as part of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. The schedule is challenging and will provide us with the opportunity to compete against several programs who will be vying for conference championships and postseason play.”

As part of the five-team Hall of Fame Classic, the Great Danes kick off 2015-16 against NCAA powerhouse Kentucky at Rupp Arena on Friday, Nov. 13, in the first all-time meeting between the teams. UAlbany continues the tournament's campus play at former America East foe Boston University on Monday, Nov. 16. The Danes and Terriers last faced each other in 2013, before BU departed for the Patriot League.

Will Brown's squad makes its 2015-16 SEFCU Arena debut on Thursday, Nov. 19 against Colgate. The cross-state rivals mark their 26th all-time meeting, dating back nearly 100 years. UAlbany hosts Oneonta on Saturday, Nov. 21.

The Purple & Gold hits the road for Tampa, Fla., to visit USF on Nov. 24 in its final away game for the Hall of Fame Classic. The pre-Thanksgiving contest is the first all-time meeting for the Bulls and Great Danes.

As part of six total non-conference home games in 2015-16, UAlbany hosts familiar foes NJIT (Friday, Nov. 27) and Yale (Sunday, Nov. 29). The Danes are 10-2 with six-straight wins against those two squads.

UAlbany begins a four-game road-stand at Quinnipiac on Tuesday, Dec. 1, wrapping up a series of three games in five days for Brown & co. A visit to Worcester, Mass., for a Saturday tilt against Holy Cross on Dec. 5 marks the third meeting between the Danes and Crusaders.

Despite a short drive down 87 to Poughkeepsie, UAlbany and Marist face-off for the first time in an official game in the Division I era on Wednesday, Dec. 9. The Red Foxes went 7-25 last season, with a 5-15 clip in the MAAC.

The Danes return to Albany for the annual Albany Cup game on Dec. 12 at the Times Union Center. UAlbany has brought the Cup uptown the last three seasons and four of the last five years.

In its final pair of home non-conference contests, UAlbany hosts Saint Francis (Pa.) (Saturday, Dec. 19) and Niagara (Wednesday, Dec. 23). After a brief holiday break, the Danes face St. Francis Brooklyn on the road (Tuesday, Dec. 29), followed by Cornell in Ithaca on Saturday, Jan. 2.
