COLLEGEINSIDER RELEASE

BOSTON, MASS. – After claiming America East All-Conference First Team honors, University at Albany men's basketball guard Evan Singletary was selected as a finalist for the Riley Wallace Player of the Year Award, CollegeInsider.com announced Tuesday morning.

The Riley Wallace Player of the Year Award is presented annually to the top Division I transfer. Eligible awardees can come from fellow Division I schools, junior colleges, Division II, Division III and NAIA levels. Singletary was one of 26 Division I transfers named as a finalist. All finalists are also members of the Riley Wallace All-America Team. The winner of the Riley Wallace Award will be announced at the Final Four on April 3 in Indianapolis.

Singletary averaged 13 points and just under three assists per game at the point guard slot for Will Brown. He led the league in assist-turnover ratio, handing out 94 assists this season. The junior proved clutch in late-game situations, hitting the game-winner at Vermont on Jan. 28, and sealing a 64-60 victory at Yale in non-conference play.
