Rayshan Clark Tabbed CAA Defensive Player Of The Week

COLUMBIA HIGHLIGHTS I CAA RELEASE
ALBANY, N.Y. -- University at Albany cornerback Rayshan Clark has been named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week, announced Monday by the conference office.
Clark marks UAlbany's fourth player this season to earn CAA weekly honors, joining Neil Morrison (Defensive - Week 1), Patrick Toole (Special Teams - Week 4), and Josh Gontarek (Rookie - Week 4). In their second season in the conference, the Danes has had a player earn each one of the CAA weekly awards, as Omar Osbourne was named the Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 9, 2013.

CLARK RECORDS/NOTES: Clark led UAlbany to a 42-7 win over Columbia and 4-0 record, serving as the defensive playmaker of the game … Totaled six tackles, including three solo … Logged a solo sack and forced a fumble, cleanly stripping the ball from Columbia quarterback Brett Nottingham – UAlbany recovered and scored a touchdown on the next play for a 35-0 lead … Also recovered a fumble on a botched snap in the third quarter and recorded three pass breakups … Led the defense that held Columbia to just 71 rushing yards on 34 attempts (2.1 yards/rush) and that forced five turnovers that resulted in 14 points … With Clark's help, UAlbany ranks 1st in the FCS for turnover margin (3.00), 2nd in rushing defense (72.0), and 3rd in scoring defense (10.0).
