Amanda Dolan Named America East Volleyball Rookie of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – University at Albany middle blocker Amanda Dolan has been honored as the America East Volleyball Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
This is the team's second weekly rookie honor in 2013. Laini Leindecker earned the team's first rookie weekly award on September 16th.
Dolan had solid performances in each match this weekend. She hit .316 with 15 kills in a five-set defeat to UMBC, then earned 10 kills with a .258 hitting percentage in a four-set victory over then-first place Stony Brook. On the weekend, the freshman hit .290 with 25 kills and eight total blocks, getting just five attack errors.
Currently, Dolan leads the Great Danes with a .241 hitting percentage, 116 kills and 43 total blocks. She earned all-tournament team honors in the LA Westside Invitational and the Carolina Classic.
The team will play Colgate on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before another duo of home conference matches this weekend.
