Fort Collins, Colo. - UAlbany dropped two matches to Colorado State and Nebraska on Saturday in non-conference volleyball action. The Great Danes fell earlier in the day to #5 Nebraska, 3-0, before losing a 3-0 match to the host Rams in the evening. Nebraska posted three game scores of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-12, while Colorado State defeated the Great Danes with scores of 25-20 and 25-15, before going to extra points in the final and winning, 27-25.

            In the early match, Casey Wright and Sara Pope totaled six kills apiece to lead the Great Danes, while Wright did not commit an error in 10 attempts for a .600 hitting percentage. Setter Brooke Stanley finished with 20 assists and five digs, while libero Laurie Gonzalez totaled a match-high 15 digs.

Nebraska's Hannah Werth recorded a match-high 12 kills on .417 hitting, while Brooke Delano tallied 10 kills, hitting .667 in the match. Setter Lauren Cook notched a double-double of 34 assists and 13 digs. The Cornhuskers, who are ranked fifth in the nation, posted a .413 hitting percentage over the three sets. As a team, Nebraska posted nine total blocks, led by Hayley Thramer with six block assists.

In the later match against host Colorado State, Pope and Samantha Brostrom both finished with 11 kills, while Wright added seven kills. Stanley quarterbacked the UAlbany offense with 32 assists, while Lindsey McCloskey totaled a match-high 14 digs. Gonzalez recorded 11 digs and one of UAlbany's three service aces. Vanessa Sheffield notched four block assists to lead the Great Danes, who recorded six total blocks as a team.

The Rams were led by Dana Cranston, who finished with a team-high 13 digs and nine kills. Brieon Paige also recorded nine kills, while Izzy Gaulia added 12 digs. Deedra Foss led the Rams' offense with 37 assists, and posted four of Colorado State's seven service aces.

UAlbany (0-5) will finish off its swing through Colorado on Sunday with a match against Colorado at the Omni Hotels Colorado Volleyball Classic at 4 p.m.
