UAlbany Moves Up to 16th in Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I National Coaches' Poll

Albany, N.Y. - The UAlbany field hockey team jumped up two spots to 16th in the Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I National Coaches' Poll, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon. The Great Danes have been ranked for five straight weeks this season.

            Senior forward Nicole Savage earned America East Conference Player of the Week after leading UAlbany to a 2-0 win over Boston U. Savage tallied two assists that clinched the America East Regular Season title for UAlbany for the second straight season. Savage, who is tied for the team lead with six goals on the season, recorded her sixth and seventh helpers for the year. She assisted on Inge Baijens' gamewinning goal in the 34th minute, before passing off to Alysia Hough at 46:42 for an insurance goal in the win. Savage finished with a team-high three shots, including two on goal, in the game.

            UAlbany (12-3) will wrap up the regular season with a non-conference game on Wednesday at #7 Connecticut before hosting America East rival New Hampshire on Saturday.
