Williamsburg, Va. ? The University at Albany golf team finished sixth among 17 competing schools at the ECAC Championship hosted by William & Mary on Sunday, Oct. 5. After setting a single-round program mark with a team score of 317 yesterday, the squad's final score of 641 at the regional tournament set a two-round program record. Sophomore Corrin Conroy led the way for the Great Danes by posting a team-best 36-hole score of 156 (77-79). Princeton won the title with a team score of 599.
Conroy's score placed her in a tie for 12th in the field of 88 competitors. Freshman Stephanie Klein shattered her personal-best score by 10 strokes by firing rounds of 78 and 79 over the par-72, 6,058-yard Kiskiack Golf Course. She finished tied for 16th overall. Annemarie Kissane, another freshman, tied for 32nd after carding a 161 (80-81). Juniors Jessica Signorelli (T-57th, 82-88--170) and Amanda McPhee (T-62nd, 88-85--173) also contributed to the team score.
After putting together its best performance in program history this weekend, UAlbany will be back in action at the Rutgers Invitational on Oct. 10-11. Each round is slated to start at 9 a.m.
