UALBANY FIELD HOCKEY CRUISES PAST DAVIDSON TO WIN FIFTH STRAIGHT
Davidson, N.C. - Sophomore midfielder Michele Polizois recorded her first career hat trick, scoring three goals in UAlbany's 5-0 win over Davidson in non-conference field hockey action on Friday, Sept. 22. The Great Danes, who have won five straight, improved to 7-2 on the season.
Polizois started the scoring for the Great Danes, slipping an unassisted shot past Wildcat goalkeeper Brittany Rollek just 2:41 into play. Freshman midfielder Teska Koch doubled the score for the Great Danes at 6:46 of the first half with an unassisted tally of her own. Junior midfielder Michelle Simpson scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season on a corner just two minutes later to finish the first-half scoring for UAlbany.
UAlbany started the second half much like the first, with Polizois recording her second score of the night four minutes into the stanza on a corner. The Great Danes, who held an 8-5 advantage in penalty corners, converted their third of the game at 47:53 as Polizois scored her third, with assists going to sophomore midfielder Arlette Westdorp and freshman defender Jess Lindsay.

The Great Danes will play the final contest of their four-game road stretch on Sunday, as they visit North Carolina, who was ranked fifth in this week's STX/NFHCA National Division I Coaches Poll. The game starts at 1 p.m.
