Jared Alderman joined the University at Albany’s athletic department as an Athletic Communications Assistant in August 2025. He serves as the primary communications contact for the Great Danes’ women’s soccer and baseball programs, and as the secondary contact for men’s basketball. His responsibilities include managing media relations, writing game recaps and feature stories, maintaining statistics, overseeing website and roster updates, coordinating social media content, and supporting game day operations.
Before joining UAlbany, Alderman completed a full-time athletic communications internship at St. John Fisher University. There, he served as the primary contact for several varsity programs, contributing to NCAA postseason coverage while gaining hands-on experience with PrestoSports, Sidearm Sports, and StatCrew. His work included writing, live stat management, graphic design, and updating record books and team bios.
In Summer 2025, Alderman interned with the Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) as a Marketing and Fan Engagement Intern. He helped execute in-game promotions, supported grassroots marketing campaigns, and contributed to community engagement initiatives across the Capital Region.
Alderman also served as an Account Management Intern with Novus Clothing Company, where he worked with athletic clients nationwide to manage custom team apparel orders and maintain strong client relationships.
A native of Upstate New York, Alderman graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and a minor in Business Administration. While at Brockport, he held leadership positions as a two-year Resident Assistant and Union Manager for Student Union Leadership and Activities. He is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration at Siena College.
