Jen Sykes

Jen Sykes returns for her fourth season as a member of the UAlbany women’s lacrosse coaching staff. Sykes, a standout women’s lacrosse and field hockey player at East Stroudsburg University, was promoted to top assistant in the summer of 2005.

Prior to her arrival at UAlbany, Sykes helped introduce girls’ lacrosse to the area of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She served as the head coach at Conestoga Valley High School and compiled a 54-15-2 record in five seasons.

Sykes, who played defensive wing for East Stroudburg’s lacrosse squad, was a two-time first-team All-American and All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference honoree. She was named the team’s MVP as a senior.

A three-time Academic All-American in field hockey and lacrosse, Sykes was voted the 1998 East Stroudsburg Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Sykes, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from East Stroudsburg in 1998, is married to UAlbany women’s field hockey head coach Phil Sykes.
