Abby Lemon

Abby Lemon, a standout thrower at the College of William & Mary where she holds the program standard in the hammer throw, begins her first season as a graduate assistant coach at UAlbany. She will be responsible for assisting Andy Welkley with the throwers.

Lemon, a three-time all-conference selection and ECAC qualifier in the hammer throw, won the event at the 2008 Colonial Athletic Association championship meet and set the current school record of 175-feet at the NCAA East Regional Championship. In addition to being a member of three CAA outdoor championship teams, she was named the 2009 National Strength and Conditioning Association Athlete of the Year as well as an All-American by the organization.

Lemon earned a bachelor's degree in government with a minor in history from William & Mary in 2009. She is currently pursuing her master's in political science at UAlbany's Rockefeller College.
