Donald Shea has worked with the UAlbany lacrosse program since 2000 and currently serves as the team's volunteer assistant, being with the Great Danes since the team's second season in Division I and Scott Marr's arrival with the Purple and Gold. He previously was an assistant coach at Butler University for four seasons.

Shea is currently a school counselor at Koda Middle School in Clifton Park, N.Y., where he develops and implements class lists, teacher assignments and building schedules. He earned a B.S. in sociology and a M.S. in school guidance counseling from Butler.  Shea also attended Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts' graduate program in school administration. He and his wife, Jamie, have a son, Merrick, and a daughter, Sloan.
