Jeff Dittman enters his third season on UAlbany’s staff this fall. After two years as the director of football operations, Dittman has added special teams coordinator and defensive assistant to his title for 2015. Dittman oversees the administrative side of the football program, which includes: pre-season planning; road-game logistics; recruiting administration and organization; serving as the liaison with various departments within athletics; and managing official visits.
Dittman came to UAlbany after spending two seasons on the coaching staff at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Prior to RPI, Dittman spent three seasons at St. Lawrence University. He helped the Saints capture the 2010 Liberty League title and advance to the NCAA Tournament as the staff was the conference’s Coaching Staff of the Year. Dittman served as the linebackers coach after mentoring the defensive line the previous two years.
A member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), he has also worked as a clinician at numerous camps, such as Vermont All-Star Football, Brian Leonard Football and Boston College.
As a student-athlete, Dittman was a two-time captain as a linebacker at Hartwick College, where he played from 2003 to 2006 before graduating in 2007 (B.A. in accounting). The Pleasantville, N.Y., native and Pleasantville High School graduate earned the team’s A.J. Pittorino Award for high character, the Phil Rigano Award – the highest award for academic and athletic excellence – and the M. Beal Banks Award, which is the athletic department’s award for character.
